Although the first reference to inline skates is recorded to have come from a London stage performer in 1743, quad skates dominated the skating scene until the 1970s, when in Minneapolis USA, Brennan and Scott Olson picked up an inline design and decided it would be useful for training ice hockey players, without the need for ice. Aggressive Inline Skating or Rollerblading is a baby of the Extreme Family, as it only really took off in the late '80s. In case you're worried, or just wondering, 'Aggressive' is not meant to describe the skaters, just the style of skating, which basically means you perform tricks and stunts, skate on ramps and rails.
Our teachers love 'dancing' on coping (the metal bars along the tops of most ramps), and can take you from those wobbly beginning stages, to being a confident, competent skater, dropping ramps, and learning stalls and grinds. Because of the need to have skates which fit you properly, it's best if you bring your own skates to Boardroom, but before you go out and buy your own, we can advise you about where to source them, and the right equipment to buy.
